The problem
A protocol fault found in the field is the most expensive kind. It arrives as a recall, an angry integrator, or an interoperability dispute where every supplier blames the others. And the faults that reach the field are precisely the ones a quick bench check misses: a timing violation under load, a mishandled edge-case frame, a device that conforms on paper but refuses to talk to a specific third-party controller. By the time these surface at a customer site, months of goodwill and margin are already gone.
What we deliver
Before we test, we agree a test plan derived from your requirements and the applicable standard, so coverage is defined up front rather than argued about afterwards. We then run independent testing and validation across the dimensions that actually cause field failures. Conformance testing against the protocol specification; interoperability testing against real third-party devices, not just simulators; performance and timing characterisation — jitter, bus load, cycle time under realistic conditions; and regression suites you can re-run every time the firmware changes. We use professional-grade protocol analyzers and automated test benches, and we hand back a report that is clear enough to act on and rigorous enough to stand up in an audit.
Standards we work to
Conformance to the CiA, EtherCAT Technology Group and SAE J1939 profiles, IEC 61784-3 for safety communication, and the verification-and-validation evidence expected by IEC 61508 and ISO 26262. Every test is documented, repeatable and traceable back to a requirement, so the results mean something to your assessor as well as to your engineers. We can also validate safety communication layers such as FSoE and CANopen Safety, where correct fault reaction and timing must be demonstrated, not assumed.
